Beware OF BUSHFIRE CHARITIES FUND RAISING AND POSSIBLE SCAMS.

It seems many people have made generous donations of goods/clothes/food etc. But there are stories of some pushy “do gooders” going to halls and public spaces and demanding to set up a charity goods supply outlet. Well intentioned perhaps, but they are demanding free space for large quantities of donated goods using the certifications of registered organised local bodies whose facilities are used (and paid for) by local community members.

Many of these items have been recruited from, in some cases ,very expensive product companies, not donated by goodhearted individuals.

Most fire affected people need a helping hand to clear rubble, build a fence and such, not a free $500 casserole dish.

Secure donations of money are perferrable and easier.
