This commemorative service is most unique in that in living memory during the one hundred years since the end of WW1 no other service of this kind has been held at Mitchells Is, Oxley Island, or Bohnock.

A count indicates that over seventy five young men enlisted from the islands and nineteen are listed among the fallen.
